About the Teacher

Sr. Martín

I am Mr. Martín and I am happy to be your child’s new music teacher and band director.
I would like to introduce a little about myself. I come from Madrid, Spain. I was an elementary classroom teacher during the last six years. I have been teaching different subjects, such as English, Spanish Language, Maths, Science, Physical Education and Music from first to fifth grade. I have always had a passion for music. I studied trumpet, music theory, choir, orchestra during nine years in the State Conservatory in Ávila (Spain). I’ve been the choir director and Music Coordinator in María Inmaculada School (Madrid) for several years.

As I mentioned above, music is my passion, therefore, I would try to obtain that feeling with every child in my class by making them enjoy the subject as much as I do. I will try to make music class a time and place where the students can feel independent, respected and valued through interesting, fun and dynamic classes by means of playing instruments, sing songs and dance a lot. I’m happy to bring Spanish culture through music.

In addition, I love to play sports, mainly soccer and I support FC. Barcelona, but I like to practice all the sports that I can, as surf, basketball, volleyball…Furthermore I enjoy riding my Harley Davidson... I miss it!

I am very excited to be part of the ISLA family and looks forward to an amazing year ahead.
